Privacy Policy

LeagueGolf ("we", "us", "our") operates the LeagueGolf mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.
1. Data Controller
The data controller is LeagueGolf, operated by LeagueGolf. For questions about your data, contact us at privacy@leaguegolf.co.

2. Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data when you use our Service:
- Account data: Full name, email address, gender, nationality, and optionally your golf ID (DGU number) and profile photo.
- Authentication data: We use Firebase Authentication (Google, Facebook, or email/password). We receive your name, email, and profile picture from these providers. We do not store your passwords.
- Golf data: Tournament scores, handicap history, league memberships, and tee time assignments.
- Chat messages: Messages you send in league chat are stored by Stream (GetStream) and visible to other league members.
- Photos: Photos you upload to league galleries are stored by Cloudinary and visible to league members.
- Device data: If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver notifications. We do not collect location data or analytics at this time.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data based on:
- Contract performance: To provide the Service (managing your league, recording scores, displaying leaderboards).
- Consent: When you create an account, you consent to the processing described in this policy.
- Legitimate interest: To improve and maintain the Service.
4. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account.
- To display your name, nationality, and scores on league leaderboards.
- To calculate handicaps and Order of Merit standings.
- To enable league administrators to manage tournaments and players.
- To send you service-related notifications (e.g., tournament updates).
5. Data Sharing
Your name, nationality, handicap, and tournament scores are visible to other members of your league. If your league is marked as "public," this data is also visible to anyone with the guest link.
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- Firebase (Google): For authentication and push notifications. Privacy Policy
- Stream (GetStream): For in-app chat messaging and push notification delivery. Your name and messages are processed by Stream. Privacy Policy
- Cloudinary: For photo storage and image processing. League photos you upload are stored and served by Cloudinary. Privacy Policy
- Railway: API hosting. Privacy Policy
- Simply/unoeuro: Database and web hosting. Privacy Policy
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized tournament scores may be retained for league history.
You can export all your personal data at any time from your Profile in the app.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate data via your profile or by contacting us.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your account and data.
- Data portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format. You can export your data directly from the app via Profile → Export My Data, or by contacting us.
- Object: Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent: At any time, without affecting prior processing.

8. Data Security
We use HTTPS for all data transmission, Firebase Authentication for secure sign-in, and access controls to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.
9. International Transfers
Your data may be processed by Firebase (Google) in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses. Our database is hosted in the EU (Denmark).
10. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
12. Sub-Processors
We use the following third-party services to operate LeagueGolf:
Data may be transferred to the US under Standard Contractual Clauses (Firebase, Stream, Cloudinary, Railway).
